Big Band adaptation for "Lift Every Voice and Sing"

On October 11th 2017, Berklee College of Music released

a performance video of "Lift Every Voice and Sing",  featuring big band adaptation by Misha Danilov.

The song is considered the Black National Anthem. This version is based on Lawrence "Larry" Watson's arrangement that was first featured for Nelson Mandela in 1990 during his historic visit to Boston after he was released from prison.

 

In September 2016, the big band arrangement of this song was performed at S.O.A.R 2016 event for 10.000 audience.

 Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra" & Guo Yazhi

Misha's arrangement of Chinese ethnic tune "Dance of the Golden Snake" was performed by Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra and Guo Yazhi, one of the finest Chinese wind players on the planet. Recorded in May 2019 at Marsee Auditorium in Torrance, CA, this project is inspired by the Silk Road – Camel Walk weaves between orchestration and spontaneity, and combines the essence not only of the culture of East and West, but also Jazz.

Down Beat Express Big Band Holidays Concert

Misha's original composition "Glam City" was featured by Pat Emmett and his Down Beat Express big band at Charles Music Store and Studio's Holidays Concert. This performance featured wonderful singer Lena Glikson. The lyrics were written by singer-songwriter Yicheng Wu according to Misha's story for this song.

In 2016, Misha was commissioned to write a contemporary bid band arrangement for Chinese ethnic song "Jin She Kuang Wu (Wild Dance of Golden Snake)" for award-winning Chinese ethnic woodwind player Guo Yazhi and  Alan Chan his Jazz Orchestra.


The arrangement was later performed again by Guo Yazhi & Alan Chan Jazz Orchestra in the world famous Baked Potato Jazz Club.

Original Big Band Compositions "Brainwash" and "Come Closer" performed live by Misha Danilov's big band in the Red Room in Boston. 

Misha is the composer, band leader and bass player .

 

Tashkent Jazz, Rock & Soul Festival 2011

Tashkent Jazz. Rock & Soul festival 2011 was organized by Misha Danilov and held in Amir Timur Hall at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It was the biggest music event of the year. This concert brought together musicians of Tashkent Jazz club, Rock musicians, and other Uzbek stars, such as Mansur Tashmatov (People's Artist winner), Yunus Gulzarov ("Golden Sax of Uzbekistan"), Matin, Aysel Balich, Valentina (Matin is an International Music Award winner.)

The event attracted an impressive list of audience members: ministers, ambassadors, members of the business elite, and more.

Session Bass Player for Sanjar Nafikov's project

Misha has been a session bass player for a varied group Uzbek artists. These are the videos of the recording session for Sanjar Nafikov, a great piano player from Tashkent.

Recording Session For International Jazz Festival in Kyrgyzstan

After performing at Ilkhom Theater with Misha's band Jam Five, they were noticed by musicians from different countries and pretty soon were invited to play at International Jazz Festival in Kyrgyzstan. These recordings, along with recordings of all other bands (festival members), were included in the CD release of the festival.

Playing with Symphony Orchestra

Misha was one of the five soloists featured by the Symphony Orchestra in the concert celebrating the 60th birthday of a great Uzbek composer, Valeriy Saparov, at National Conservatory of Uzbekistan.

 

This is one of his compositions, "Dialogs", which was written for symphony orchestra and five solo instruments: Tenor Sax, Alto Sax, Piano, Bass, and Marimba.

Performance featured by National TV Channel "TTV"

 Uzbek national channel Tashkent TV made a program about  a big jazz concert in Tashkent where Misha was playing.
